What a day it's been! The life of a locksmith is full of unexpected twists and turns, and today was a perfect example of keeping things on the move.
A Quick Fix for the Maglock
First up, a call about a maglock. The building's inhabitants could get in, but couldn't get out—turned out the exit button had given up the ghost! A quick diagnosis and a plan was made. I'll be swinging back later with a brand-new button to get everything working perfectly again.

An Urgent Dash to Goulburn
Next, an urgent call sent me on a road trip up to Goulburn. The word "bank" and "safe" together can make you picture a massive, dramatic job, but thankfully, this was a smaller under-counter time delay safe. The Lagard spring bolt lock had a broken latch, but it was a quick opening. I've ordered a replacement, so I'll be heading back in a few days to get that installed. It's always a relief when a job goes smoother than you expect!

Back in Town
On the way back to the workshop, I made a detour to Fyshwick to pick up the new exit button and then headed back to the city to finish that first job. It's all about making sure the first customer of the day is taken care of!
Quoting a New Project in Kambah
After that, I popped over to Kambah to meet with a man interested in a smart lock for his sliding door. I always enjoy these jobs—it's a great chance to explain that digital locks are more about convenience and ease of use than just hardcore security.
The Tuggeranong Time Delay
To wrap up the day, I went to Tuggeranong to revisit a safe door I had opened a couple of days ago. The old digital lock had failed, but today I got to repair the door and install a brand-new Lagard 702 safe lock. It's a great system that allows for managed users and a long time delay, giving the customer exactly what they needed.
All in all, a fun day of travel, problem-solving, and a lot of satisfied customers. On to the next one!
