From Mystery Locks to Modern Charm: A Day in the Life!

Well, what a start to the day! Woke up feeling a bit like my head was hosting a marching band (thanks, cold!), but nothing stops the show when there are exciting projects waiting!

First up, a real head-scratcher: a window lock mystery up north! Picture this: a crucial part vanished into thin air, and every single other window in the house is different. Talk about a curveball! But no worries, it's a dowel window, so I'm on the case. Loving these little detective missions that pop up in the world of locks and security!

Then it was off to Narrabundah, a charming Canberra suburb, to check out a truly lovely older house. The homeowner has some brilliant ideas, like bringing a sleek, modern digital thumbprint lock to the front door. It’s going to be a fantastic blend of old-world charm and cutting-edge tech – embracing the best of both! Inside, we're tackling some well-loved (and well-worn!) internal handles. The trick here is finding replacements that keep that beautiful, original feel. It’s always a fun challenge to balance new functionality with classic aesthetics, and I'm already envisioning some fantastic "austyle" levels for this quote!

And just when you thought the day couldn't get more interesting, I had a bit of a key caper! A Hyundai i30's key tip went missing – you just can't make this stuff up! Luckily, cutting another blade worked like a charm, and all the locks were perfectly fine. Even better, I whipped up a spare key for the owner so they won't have to worry about that little disappearing act again. LARA App to the rescue again - Problem solved!

By this point, it was definitely time for a well-earned break. "Yay! Lunch time!" was certainly my thought as I went off in search of some delicious scrambled eggs and bacon. Fuel for the afternoon adventures!

The afternoon settled into a quieter rhythm with a couple of quotes, before wrapping up in Gungahlin to replace a vandalised pull handle. Another small victory, ensuring everything is secure and looking great.

Every day brings new challenges and satisfying solutions. It's truly a blast helping people secure and update their homes, one lock (or handle, or key!) at a time!
