Another Day, Another Adventure!
What a day it's been! The locksmith life is never dull, and today was a perfect example of keeping things exciting and on the move.
Started the morning bright and early, heading out to help a customer with their Nissan Navara D40. Not only did I get to cut some new keys, but they also needed a re-key! No sweat, thanks to my trusty LARA app, I was able to decode the locks and get those wafers rearranged. So, whoever thought they could have a joyride with the old keys is out of luck! ????
Back at the shop for a quick lunch – fueled up and ready for the next challenge! A customer has about seven Locktech safes and customer's lost the codes. It's like a mystery novel, and I'm on the case, reading the eeprom chip in the first safe to find the master code. Fingers crossed we can get these open for them, especially if they're from the same batch! Always a puzzle to solve.
Then it was back to cars! Next up, a Land Rover Discovery 4. I was a little hesitant about programming some spare proximity remotes the customer already had, but you know what? It went smoother than butter! Sometimes the jobs you think will be a nightmare turn into a dream.
Later, I zipped over to Queanbeyan (just a quick trip from Canberra!) to tackle a Commodore VE. Our junior locksmith had a bit of a tricky time with it – disconnected battery, all locked up! But with a bit of ingenuity and a "Hail Mary" move involving wedging a door, pulling a wire through, and that emergency boot release, we got it open! Teamwork (and a bit of creative thinking) makes the dream work!
Wrapped up the day by installing a night latch on a bin room at a commercial premises. Simple job, but essential! Not sure where the old one vanished to, but the new one's snug and secure.
All in all, a day filled with problem-solving, happy customers, and a whole lot of fun. Every day brings a new challenge, and I wouldn't have it any other way! What a blast!
